Mathematics

Raise the Bar (RtB): By 2025 the number of students who will meet the 61st percentile or higher on winter MAP will increase from 19.19% to 24.19%.

Close the Gap (CtG): By 2025 the number of students in the low average range on the Winter MAP will increase from 15.57% to 20.57%.

Action Steps
|
- Teachers will explicitly teach content aligned to the rigor of the standards, including various modeling strategies through sharing their thought process aloud as they approach and complete tasks (i.e. “think aloud” strategy).
- Instruction will demonstrate long range unit planning, daily lesson planning, and weekly collaborative planning (to include special educators) using the BCPS Planning Templates.

- Teachers will demonstrate knowledge of their content as well as current evidence-based strategies and pedagogy by explicitly teaching content aligned to the rigor of the standards including modeling through sharing their thought process aloud as they approach and complete tasks (i.e. “think aloud” strategy).
- Instruction will demonstrate long range unit planning, daily lesson planning, and weekly collaborative planning (to include special educators) using the BCPS Planning Templates.

Raise the Bar (RtB): By 2025, we will decrease the number of chronically absent students from 25.67% to 20.67%.

Close the Gap (CtG): By 2025, we will decrease the number of Hispanic and/or Latino students who are chronically absent from 28.68% to 23.68%.

Action Steps
|
- We believe instruction must be accessible for all students. Accessible instruction promotes equity for students and their learning irrespective of student backgrounds and abilities and disrupts disproportionate outcomes.
- We believe that Equitable Access is essential in ensuring students attend school consistently. Teachers will demonstrate cultural competency in making instructional decisions regarding the students they serve, including their strengths and needs. The school environment is welcoming, inclusive, and affirming for all.
