What
is School Counseling?
An
effective school counseling program involves stakeholders in both the
school and the community and is executed under the leadership of a trained,
certified professional school counselor. The program is a balance of instructional
and therapeutic approaches, including prevention and intervention. It
is a combination of direct services to students, consultation to parents
and teachers, and the coordination of relevant activities and services.
